So in 1994, Burt Levy (born in Winnetka) self-published “The Last Open Road.” The book is now in its 6th printing including the St. Martin’s Press Edition. BS Levy has written three sequels to the original and a book of true stories entitled, “The Potside Companion.”
Staggeringly accurate and detailed in their portrayal of the world of cars and racing (Levy is long-time racer), these books cross-over and are in the curriculum of several high school and college classes.
